My portfolio is everything I want it to be I added everything I said I was going to add. With the links and the tabs and the color I wanted. I have no regrets about my portfolio. I would make it better in the beginning instead of waiting to near the end of the year to upgrade my portfolio. I am very proud of everything I did on my portfolio. I would have but some music on it so it could have some sound in the background. I would like to change the color of the background or change some other colors in the blog. Other then that I like everything else. I would also like to have the YouTube videos shown on the blog not as a link. It makes it look a lot better and it is easier to see.
Man stabs 28, four year olds!
May 28th, 2010 by brad53 · No Comments · My Blogs3
There have been attacks at public and private schools for many different kinds of people. Mostly by mentally insane people and only a couple of people with motives that were against the school or some of the teachers. The people that do the same are mentally insane and have worked at the school before. Recently the men who stabbed eight elementary school kids were recently executed by Chinese officials. Many Children have been hurt and a couple of teachers and security. People have asked for more security and some has come .China likely has about 173 million adults with mental health disorders, and 158 million of them have never had professional help. The hospital the house these mental in stable people should be better watched and secured. Plus many of these people are at there homes because they don’t want to disgrace their family and their name. There has been many stabbings recently in China in schools mainly because of mentally unstable people and former teachers. Many kids have died from of all of these stabbings. They have been stabbed and where it is possible. The people responsible for will probably be executed.
This is so outrageous that this is happening to schools in China. They should get cameras or have more security cameras. People should get hold of the mentally unstable and people should put them in a hospital or be in sight of them at all times. The schools should have someone watching the front gate at all times. How can this person stab 28 people with out being stopped? After one why wouldn’t a teacher do something? Why would someone stab 4 year old those kids could not even see it coming. They still have there innocence and is not really aware of what’s going on around they. They are in there own little world and place. What are they going to do to step up security and what are they going to do to stop this from happening again and again. Killing 4 year old is one of the worst things to do. It is murder and the punishment in China is execution. This will stop from more of this from happening. How many more kids will this happen before they do some thing about it????
Thai General Shot In The Head and Thailand Riots
May 16th, 2010 by brad53 · No Comments · My Blogs3
object>This General from Thailand is not a shy one. He talks to reporters all the time. He is very coy when he talks about the chargers against him that are providing security for the Red Shirt protest movement and allegedly fielding a death squad to counter death squads associated with the government. His protesters and he withstood military attack for five weeks in the capital city of Bangkok. While talking to a reporter he was struck in the head. To try and end the protest the Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva announced a early election to try and end the protesters. The election was tampered because there were many opposition members of parliament. They refused to leave so then the early election was off the table. Later that evening Seh Daeng was shot and now is in a coma and he will survive. Local reports say he was in a argument with another red shirt leader and then shot soon there after. He was shot because he was accused of backing the “Ronin Warriors” a gang that goes after government officials with an attack of hand grenades. People believe that he is just manipulating the Red Shirts to let the military to come in and take control. The Red Shirts also believe that Abhisit Vejjajiva came to power by back room deals and the mighty strength of the military. They are demanding that he resign immediately. Recently there has been a decrease of demonstrators from 140,000 to 10,000 people. They are camped out with many defenses to protect themselves against the military force. They also are in a very rich district which has schools, embassies, hospitals, and many other important things. They have caused around 2 billion dollars in economic damage. These riots have been going on for months and there is zero signs of stopping with these riots until the Red shirts get what they want!!
This is a scary time for the people in Thailand it has caused havoc in so many place around that country. It main site of violence is in the capital city of Bangkok. There are riots all the time people want change their and they want it now. They risk there life for what that believe in and are not afraid to act without warning. This will end with a battle or with the new Prime Minister resign his position. This will tear down the economy of Thailand everyday that the riots go on. They are losing so much money that many companies will go out of business. If the old prime minister comes back they will have such a low economy it will almost impossible to come out of the hole. This is such a violent time people are dying and being seriously injured. The airlines are also being shut down because of thousands of people staying there and blocking the roads. Plus many airlines are canceling because of the riots in Thailand. People are sleeping anywhere it is safe. People are stranded at the airports because of all the cancellations they are mostly tourists. If there is an election between the prime ministers then the Red Shirts will probably back off. I think they will never back off until they get their own prime minister. These riots will shape Thailand for the rest of their history.Video of the Thailand Riots
Big Ben
May 13th, 2010 by brad53 · No Comments · My Blogs3
This article is stating that Ben Roethlisberger will not appeal to his six game suspension. He is being accused of sexually assaulting a girl in a night club bathroom. He was charged of this crime, but it didn’t make a difference because there was not enough evidence to arrest him. This is not the first time; stuff like this has happened with Ben before. He has apologized to all of his teammates, fans, and his family. If he has good behavior he will only suspended for four games this season. He has been seen by medical professionals for a comprehensive behavioral evaluation to see if he can avoid situations like this, and follow their recommended suggestions.
I think that this was a very good six game suspension because, players use to get away with all those bad things they did. It sent a message to all the NFL players in the league that this kind of behavior will not be tolerated. It just so happens that this was Big Ben. He needed the message if any one else had done this it would be the same. Plus the quarterback position is usually a nice person; the leader with a good attitude. If it was a person in another position like a defense man, the punishment would be a couple games less just because of the position. The NFL is saying that this behavior will never be tolerated ever again by any player. Athletes need to assume the same punishment as any other person.
March Madness 65 to 68
May 13th, 2010 by brad53 · No Comments · My Blogs3

This article states how the NCAA added a couple teams so they could get in and play the number one seated. Usually the number one blows out the 16 seated team any way. I don’t know why they are adding more teams, but there are only a couple teams that didn’t get in that should have, like Mississippi St. Other main points brought up in this article were how much the TV company’s were paying to get the majority of the games on their channel. It is all about the money. It is not yet approved to 68 teams, but will be approved shortly. I don’t think the NCAA really cares about the authenticity of the tournament and how hard it is to get into the tournament. If it expands to 95 teams like they want it to then almost every team will make the tournament and wouldn’t be a special tournament. This is all about making money; nothing else and nothing more. This will change and kill the tournament. It will drag the tournament on for a couple of extra weeks. The ratings will go down for all the rounds except for the sweet 16 and down. Players will be more likely to get injured and might ruin their whole basketball career. If a main player gets injured, their team is almost done in the tournament. All the players will be more acceptable for injury. This tournament expanding is a disgrace to basketball and all fans of basketball. There is so much money at stake for all the company’s involved. This might break a company or make a company. Let’s preserve the best tournament in basketball!
Ash In The Atlantic
May 12th, 2010 by brad53 · No Comments · My Blogs3
Volcanic ash has just recently made itself know to Europe and the USA. It erupted in Iceland, where all of the major airplanes fly to get from Europe to America. With all of the ash it has made flight visibility almost impossible. The cloud of ash is 1,250 by 800 miles wide and 35,000 feet high, therefore the planes can not fly over. That is the normal flying path of an airplane. Many of the major airports cannot send flights because of this ash cloud. If they are sending flights they have one to three or more hour delays for each flight that they send. Many flights are now going into Spain, and so the Spanish flight control is very busy with all the new flights coming over their area and the no fly zone. The volcano has not stopped spewing ash since April 13. It last erupted from 1821 to 1823.
It is a very expensive process to have flights goes a different route; in fact it might make a couple of airlines go out of business because of tall the extra fuel that they are using. It costs them $5,000 to fly around all of the ash. Also with the flights that they aren’t sending they lose money too. If this ash goes like it did in 1821, people might have to fly pass China to get to Europe or wherever they might be going in Europe. This might affect us for years, or it might be months; no one knows. This will weaken our economy a little bit; a worse position than we already is. I was watching a UFC fight when the announcer said that this fighter that was scheduled to fight couldn’t because he was stuck in Europe because of all the ash. This is affecting everyone. This is all about the wind. If it bows south it jams up the air traffic, but if it goes north it doesn’t cause that much damage the flight plans. All of the ash is all in the Arctic pole. I hope that the wind starts blowing north!
Rancho Cotate “Myths” Class 2010
March 3rd, 2010 by brad53 · No Comments · My Blogs2
I have been a student at Rancho for all 4 years. Every year has its own unique set of problems and they are mostly all the same problems. There is always fights at are school and there are fights every day at other schools to. It is mostly over stupid stuff like it is at every school. There are always there share of gang members or gangster wannabes. Every school has drugs and alcohol. There are a lot of very good teachers at Rancho and who care about their students and want them to succeed. There are always fair shares of bad teachers there are only a couple bad teachers and want school doesn’t have a bad teacher. The student cliques are not really an issue because mostly every one is friends and every one gets along. There are always going to be people that hate each other but isn’t that at every school. It might be hard to get into a clique because they are all friends. They are so close that they don’t want anything to destroy that friendship between those cliques. Safety is not a big problem because there are not that many fights and not really gang members and it’s an overall safe place. Education level is great we have a very wide variety of honors call or AP classes. There are many more purpose driven people at Rancho then people think. People take many different honor classes to get into their college of their choice. There are lots of college bound course, there would be know problem to get into any college. If you go to Rancho there will be many teachers that push you out of your box and push you to your limits. Every teacher wants you to succeed and go on to much bigger and better things. In sports Rancho is one of the best teams in every sport they do any sport of your choice we excel and there will be a good chance of getting an academic scholarship to there respected sports team. Overall I think Rancho is very good school with great people and great teachers. I am glad I choice Rancho as my choice of school. It was one of the best choices of my life.
New NFL rule proposed
March 3rd, 2010 by brad53 · No Comments · My Blogs2
This new rule in the NFL is an overtime rule that is long overdue. This rule only applies in overtime and in the playoffs of the NFL. It is just like the overtime in college football. First the team that wins the coin toss gets to pick if they go first or second to drive down the field and score. If they scored a field goal the other team will win if they scored a touchdown. If a team scores on defense the game is automatically over.
This rule should be applied to all games not just the playoffs so each team can go against each other and have a fair chance to win the game. This rule should apply as soon as possible. This could have help in some of the playoff games this year because so of then went into overtime. This rule could have help many, many years ago by effecting many games and could change the whole outcome of the NFL. This rule has been brought up some many times that I think that it will not pass or maybe just to be fair to each team. This rule would change the whole outcome of almost every NFL playoff’s and their series that has ever been.
Uganda under Idi Amin
March 2nd, 2010 by brad53 · No Comments · My Blogs2
Amin was born in 1925. He was born in northern Uganda as a child of the Kakwa tribe. His father was an Islamic farmer and later became a police officer. His mother practiced sorcery and was in the Lugbara tribe. His parent’s separated after he was born, and he was raised by his mother. She later became a member of the King’s African Rifles, part of the British colonial army. Amin was the third of eight siblings, with different fathers. He didn’t receive much education, but excelled in sports. As a young boy, Amin converted to Islam.
He got involved with the King’s African Rifle men in 1946. He began as an assistant cook. Next he was a corporal, then sergeant-major and platoon commander all by 1951. Meanwhile he became the heavyweight boxing champion of Uganda! This gave Amin popularity with the citizens and high officials. By 1959 Amin was promoted a warrant officer, ranked, “effendi” because they thought he had good potential of becoming a leader. Between 1963 and 1964, he went from major to colonel then deputy commander of the army and air force. He was one of only two Ugandans that was a commissioned officer.
The Prime Minister Obote of Uganda drove out King Mutesa, made himself president and promoted Amin to major-general and chief of the army and air force. Amin found his own support, overthrew the prime minister and was the president and chief of the armed forces. Immediately he killed the supporters of Obote called Acholi and Langi. Many of his supporters were from his native tribe, Kakwa, and they spoke with the same dialect. This kept his closest supporters loyal. So he could get away with many crimes.
He lied to the people in order to gain trust. He told them he would bring back the pride of the Uganda people. He had the support of Brittan, the United States and Israel in 1971. He had even fooled the United Nations, though many smaller countries would not openly support his regime. In 1972 he declared that the country will be a country for the native Ugandans, a “black man’s country.” He gave Asians 90 days to leave the country. He expelled almost 80,000 Asians to leave the country. He wanted all of Uganda’s economy in the hands of native Ugandans. He cut off support of Israel and Brittan and allied with the Palestinian liberation movement. He ordered an ethnic cleansing where those who did not support him or still supported Obote were killed. He even killed people on live TV. He was brutal in his killings; no one was safe. He killed ordinary civilians, religious leaders and tribal leaders. He killed anyone that might be a threat to his reign. Soon the country was run by the military with 18,000 troops on his “security force.” East Germany helped Amin form his secret police. He was a big manipulator of his army giving his officers luxury items and gave his troops enough to stay satisfied. In 1975 he made himself president for life. The Soviet Union was his largest military supporter. Amin lead an attack on Tanzania, as a diversion from his own political reign beginning to crumble. During the next two weeks Amin, with the help of Radio Uganda, created a phony war. First he told his people that the Tanzanians were invading Uganda for their own ambitions and that he wanted peace. During this time Amin but all of his aided troops from Libya on the front lines, he then took all of their aid and used it for his own good. The Tanzanians lead a counter-attack on Amin and dethroned him to exile in Libya then to Saudi Arabia. He reigned from 1971 to 1979 and in those years had 100,000 – 500,000 people killed.
Once the Tanzanians got into Uganda they let the world know about the horrific tragedies Amin placed on his people. They found dead bodies and pictures of the brutality. Amin was brutal, but much of his brutality was overlooked or feared. Even high officials overlooked horrific things he did before he went to power as president. Amin knew if he could keep his military happy he could do what ever he wanted; he bribed them! He “paid” them off to keep quiet.
The mistake he made was kicking out the Indians and Pakistanis which were the working class in Uganda, therefore the economy crumbled. He left his country in economic ruin, with no agriculture, closed factories, ruined businesses, mountains of debt and a river of dead bodies. The animals were also destroyed: 75% of elephants, 98% rhinos, 90% crocodiles, 80% lions and leopards, and many numerous bird species. All of his political allies outside the country withdrew support or money. Amin’s reign was over. In 2002 the Ugandans officially celebrated Amin’s downfall for the first time; the Ugandans lived in fear of him for so long that some people thought they might be killed if they celebrated his fall.
These were horrific things that Amin did: he lied, cheated, stole, and murdered in order to gain and keep his power. This is antihumanism at its worst! He put himself in a position to say who lives and who dies in order to acquire power over people and a country. People look at him in a good ways and bad ways. Some say he was an amazing leader for Uganda and others, like me, say different. To do all these horrible things to gain power is beyond most people’s comprehension. We, the United States, even approved his government; we are at fault too. The world has seen leaders like this rise to power all the time, yet often we do nothing. When is the world going to step up and stop these things from happening before they get out-of-control. The countries that supported this or gave him aid should also be made responsible by rebuilding the country. In 2003 Amin died. There will never be a holiday to honor him; instead rows of grave markers remind the Uganda people of his brutality.
Guns Now Allowed in National Parks.
February 23rd, 2010 by brad53 · No Comments · My Blogs2
You are walking through a national park and you see someone with a gun what do you do? Call the police or call the park rangers. This is the new bill we have in place right now. This article talked about the new gun law that allows people to carry guns into are national parks all over the country. It said throughout the article that is was a stupid idea to bring guns into a national park. It also mentioned why do you need a gun in a national park and why are they needed. This article just said it was bad to bring a gun into a national park.
I though that this article is very true in what it says. I think that it is stupid for guns to be in a national park unless a park ranger has one. This is a stupid law because now people can now bring guns in and illegally kill some of the endangered animals that live in some of these national park. This will give way to many more law’s broken in the national parks. That they might want to reconsider this law before a lot of dangerous situations happen in the parks like murder and kill of the endangered animals. This is what I think about the new bill on guns being allowed in the national parks!
